A USCIS Employment Authorization Card (EAC) with a category code A11 (Deferred Enforced Departure) is not acceptable for issuance. If you have been issued an EAC with Category Code C14, you may be eligible for an Arizona driver license if you are a derivative of a self-petitioner under the Violence Against Women Act or if you have an application pending for a visa or for other immigration status.

Documents sufficient to establish authorized presence when accompanied with a C14 EAC include:

  • Form I-797 Notice of Action that identifies the EAC holder as a derivative child named in a Form I-360 Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant
  • Form I-918 Petition for U Nonimmigrant Status (U visa) that has been received by USCIS.

If you are a derivative of a self-petitioner under the Violence Against Women Act but do not have a Form I-797 that meets the above requirements, or if you have an application pending for a visa or for other immigration status, there may be alternative forms of documentation sufficient to establish authorized presence when accompanied with a C14 EAC.  If you believe that you may be eligible, please contact 602-712-8152 to discuss the documentation that is available to you.
